Super strong wheels

Santos wheels can take a beating

Wheels are important.
They endure a lot and are difficult to repair on the road.
That's why we make sure our wheels are strong, very strong.

How do we do that?

Handmade wheels tools

Handmade

We build the wheels in-house, mostly by hand. We use high-quality tools to assemble and true them.

spoke tension

Right spoke tension

We ensure that the spoke tension of each wheel is correct by checking it manually. This is crucial as the wheels are subjected to a lot of strain.

Secured spoke nipples

Secured spoke nipples

We use spoke nipples that don't come loose. They have a coating that keeps them firmly in place on the rim.

Santos hubs with 36 spoke holes

Hubs with 36 spoke holes

For all our wheels, we prefer to use hubs with 36 spoke holes, rather than the standard 32-hole variant. This makes the wheel much more stable and stronger.

Retaining rings for Rohloff hub

Retaining rings for Rohloff

A Rohloff hub is built for life.
But if you have a lot of luggage on the back of your bike, there is more pressure on the hub. If it were to become damaged, these retaining rings will still get you home - a safe feeling!

Tailored rim selection

Tailored rim selection

We select rims based on their intended use, whether it's for vacation or sport. Each type of rim has different qualities that are important for that specific use, such as stability or weight. We carefully consider the material, width, weight, and hole drilling of the rim to ensure optimal performance.

Our meticulous wheel-building process results in exceptionally strong wheels, giving you the freedom to cycle many carefree kilometers.
