Santos is a small and independent bicycle brand with a passion for cycling and a great love for quality. What started in a shed in Lisse has now grown into a bicycle specialist where a team of around 20 cycling enthusiasts work daily on the cycling dreams of Santos customers.
We are cyclists ourselves and listen to what other cyclists say. This is how we know what works (and what doesn't) and how we come up with new ideas. We love real quality and therefore develop more and more parts ourselves. We have our own R&D department with crazy bike technicians. Beside that, every mechanic has his own workbench and builds a bike as a whole.
Just like it started in 1997.
When Robbert, the founder of Santos, talked to customers in the 1990s, he realized that a good bike is more than a sum of components. In the bicycle shop he often had to rebuild bicycles and he thought that was crazy: why not first ask what someone wants and only then build the bicycle? That became the starting point of the company.
Santos has been building Custombuilt bicycles for more than 20 years. Your wishes are our first priority and that is where the entire company is based on. As flexible as possible. We are cyclists ourselves and understand your plans, nothing is strange to us. Tell us about your plans and we will translate it into the best possible bike composition.

On a real Santos you will find a wide range of parts from our own hand; Santos Only. Think of the Santos Hold-It-All, the Santos anti-twist headset and the smart belt tensioner for the Pinion gearbox.
We test the parts thoroughly. First with the 3D printer, then in the field, preferably in extreme situations under all kinds of weather conditions. This is how we make a good bikes; Built for Life.
A Santos is built in different steps. The frame will be painted, the wheels will be built and the parts will be collected.
One mechanic then assembles the bicycle. He has his own workbench and an iPad; the tools that help him to build the bike with care, as you intended.
Visit our factory? That's possible!
You can visit us. Every Friday we are open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. In two hours we will tell you everything about Santos. You get a tour around the factory, we help you make many choices and of course you can have a test ride on the more than 100 test bikes we have in house.
