A lot of cycling, very low maintenance
Santos Founder Robbert has been driving Rohloff hubs since 1997. His first hub (with serial number 600 something) is still in use in his tandem. And there's one in his mountain bike, and one in his SUB, and one in ... uhhh. In any case, he has gained a lot of experience with it.
Santos has a wide choice of bicycles with Rohloff drive. In the showroom there are more than 20 bicycles with this hub. Holiday bikes, touring bikes, mountain bikes and tandems. So come and visit us if you are looking for a bike with a Rohloff hub.
Lock rings for Rohloff
A Rohloff hub has proven to be almost indestructible. Yet - very occasionally - a flange breaks. Then you cannot continue cycling and that is the last thing you want. Therefore, just to be on the safe side, we use lock rings (from Rohloff) to hold the flange in place. If something should break, you can at least continue cycling.
Belt drive
A Rohloff hub with belt drive is a perfect combination; many kilometers with little maintenance. We get a lot of questions about belt drive on our bicycles. Robbert started it in 2008. Santos was the first on the market and we helped develop it. After all this time, we can conclude that a timing belt is very durable, if used in the right way. The belt drive is lighter, faster and cleaner. Curious?
