With the Santos Mountain Bike Specials, we have thought of everything. You do not need to choose. Well, almost. They cost between 899 and 1699 Euros. They come with disc brakes or hydraulic rim brakes.

Special 1x9 (FIETS testwinner)
The Santos SCC 02 winter bike with the Santos 1x9 concept is the test winner in the 'FIETS' winter bike test. This Santos has the speed of a crosser and the comfort of a mountain bike. Light, fast and agile. Above all, strong and wear-resistant. So, less maintenance and more fun!

This bike has been specially made for the northern European winters. A winter bike for sporty riders. Riders who like speed and a fast feel. A bike for going cross country and on the road.

The Santos SCC 02 Winter Bike with 1x9 gear system. A super fast 9.9kg MTB. The best winter bike according to 'Fiets' (see FIETS winter bikes test Sept/09).

If you do not like the standard, fine. This special also comes in a custom-built version. Even lighter, even prettier, and....more expensive :-)


Special XT/HS33 Firmtech
Black anodized lightweight aluminium frame, Magura HS33 Firmtech brakes, handmade wheels with adhesive spoke nipples, XT derailleurs and shifters and the famous Santos mountain bike geometry.

We know what northern European bikers need. A bike that rides well, fast and comfortable, without problems, even if you often ride in bad weather.

Rim Brakes? Yes, but then hydraulic brakes by Magura; for example, the HS33 Firmtech!
Your brakes are fitted directly to the frame on welded mounting points. Lots of braking power and no maintenance.

Brakes sticking? Not with the Magura HS33 Firmtech. Nothing jams with these brakes.
Lots of braking power! With the power of oil pressure at your disposal they are certainly equal in performance to disc brakes.
Completely maintenance-free. Only now and then a new set of pads will need to be mounted (and these last much longer than disc brake blocks).
Reliable. You get five years warranty on leakage.
Not one gram too many. HS33 Firmtech weighs only 272 grams per brake, and is therefore often lighter than a regular V-brake.
Brake adjustments? The special Firmtech installation of the brakes makes sure that the brakes are always sitting in the right place and they stay that way. It is important to ensure that these brakes are combined with the right rim. The large surface of the brake block (providing better braking) performs best when combined with a special rim with an additional high brake-side. We fit this as standard in the SCC 02 Special.

Strong, durable and repairable. With the handmade wheels you can be sure of quality and durability; XT hubs, butted spokes and glued nipples. Not to mention being much lighter than you might think. Should you make a wrong move, the wheel is easy to repair.

Quality in the details. Hand built and adjusted by a Santos mechanic. XT components, Magura front fork, golden chain and stainless steel shift cables. Furthermore, Schwalbe tyres and Ritchey components. Of course it comes complete with click pedals and bar ends. It is ready for you to just ride away.

Comfortable and well thought out
A Santos Special is special because everything has been taken care of.

The special Ergon hand grips prevent tingling in the hands and neck. You can lock them in any position you desire. That way they give optimum support for the palms.

The special Fizik Aliante saddle gives your behind a comfortable place to sit. Good for hours upon hours of biking. The special opening in the shell (not the entire saddle) prevents a sloppy feel. It also gives the bike a very sporty look (very important ...).
